Cuisinart DLS-2011CHBY Overview

The unit features an 11-cup Lexan work bowl which is both shatterproof and dishwasher-safe. If you’re a dough lover, you’ll be pleased to know that this machine automatically adjusts its speed to help maintain the proper dough consistency. An extra large feed tube is present, and at 4-1/4 inches by 2-3/4 inches it can swallow some big chunks, cutting down on your knife prep time.

The touchpad handily features a dough control along with a PowerPrep metal dough blade. The disc stem is detachable, which is handy.

Discs include: Slicing disc, shredding disc, chopping/mixing blade and dough blade. Both small and large pushers are included, as well as a useful spatula. To help you get the food processor set up fast, both a dvd and manual have been included.

Cuisinart DLS-2011CHBY Verdict

So, while we do recommend the Cuisinart DLC-2011CHBY  as a great 11-cup food processing solution, keep in mind that you can get the larger and more powerful 14-cup Cuisinart DFP-14BCN at more or less the same price. Cuisinart’s 14-cup versions also have considerably less build quality complaints than the 11-cup units.

Pros:

  • Lots of power
  • Easily cleaned in a dishwasher
  • Does a great job of pureeing, slicing and shredding
  • Extra large feed tube
  • Attractive design
  • Quiet

Cons:

  • On the expensive side
  • Safety features can be tricky (be sure to snap the bowl into place properly)
  • Somewhat heavy
  • Build quality issues reported
